Nature Gallery: History

The Nature Gallery was established on December 6, 2008 by Gretchen Schulz. The over century old building which is located in the heart of the Downtown Dothan Historic District was purchased in 2007. The planning, demolition, and construction of the building took a little over one year.

Gretchen manages the gallery with her two daughters, Virginia Watford and Rebecca Gumms. The three ladies moved to Dothan, Alabama in 2005 from Marianna, Florida. Dothan is what they now call home.

Gretchen previously worked as a Registered Nurse for 20 years, and has found the transition to business woman to be quite challenging, yet exciting and fulfilling. Gretchen feels very fortunate to have the opportunity to share this endeavor with her two daughters and their husbands. It is a time in her life she will forever cherish.
