Silver Seasons is the combination of Michael's exceptional knowledge of jewelry making and his love of nature. Starting as an apprentice mold cutter in 1973, Michael soon became a master precious metal caster and moldmaker. In 1976, seeking even more knowledge, Michael moved on to the Rochester Institute of Technology's prestigious School for American Craftsmen. While studying under esteemed designers Hans Christenson and Gary Griffin, he mastered many of the techniques he uses today to capture the beauty and exquisite detail of nature in metal. After graduation in 1980, Michael returned to the jewelry manufacturing community and worked for some of America's leading jewelry designers. In 1991, lucky enough to be living in the Connecticut countryside and working near New York City's flower district; Michael's love of nature began to combine with his love for jewelry. He began experimenting with the techniques that eventually launched the Silver Seasons collection in 1992.

My jewelry is inspired by the materials themselves. Since I was a teenager I'd collected beads of all types and turned them into one-of-a-kind necklaces, bracelets and earring sets. The materials I use are of all types: natural stone, pearls, vintage glass, Swarovski crystal, silver, wood and more. I like simple pieces that show the colors and patterns of the beads and stones--after all, that is what drew me to them to begin with and that is what I want to see when the piece is complete. Both my Mother and my Father influenced my love of all sorts of art and craft. In addition to creating jewelry I love to paint with both oil and acrylic. I've called Dothan home for about 6 years.

I grew up loving to be creative and enjoying new ideas. The inspiration from my work comes from the pure beauty of the natural world and the thrill of a challenge to create a piece that goes beyond what I have done before or even believe is possible. I create these pieces by hand in my flame work studio in Enterprise, AL. All of the art pieces are made from Moretti and Ask Glass.
